About Joe Burns

How can I help you? I’m halfway through life and experienced quite a bit. Below are areas I can assist with questions or decision-making. Growing or Selling a Business/Strategic Planning/Branding: My career is defined by growth and constant learning. I started in an ad agency doing market research, branding, and strategic planning. Then I joined a startup packaged food company selling to Costco and Sams Club. We built that business up quickly and sold it to a large company, then I joined a friend who had a roofing company and helped him grow it and sell it to private equity. In both of these companies I established accounting, HR, legal, and operational process to help them run efficiently and grow. Both sales processes took a year and I ran all or big parts of the sales process and due diligence. Parenting / Adoption: I hate to brag, but I’m a pretty good dad. Not perfect (just ask my wife) but I have a good relationship with my kids. One we adopted from China at age 5. If you are wondering how to be a better dad – I have ideas. Home Building: I’ve been the General Contractor to build my home, and I learned a lot. If you are thinking of building a home – there is a lot to consider. Roofing / Exteriors: The most recent business I helped grow is one that does roofing, siding, gutters, etc. If you are thinking of replacing any of these and want some unbiased advice, I can help. Also, if your home has storm damage I can advise you on the insurance process.
