I am Dr Hauwa Bello, a clinical health psychologist, psychotherapist, certified Gottman couples therapist, educator and mental health advocate based in Abuja, Nigeria.
My work centres on helping individuals, couples and families understand themselves more deeply, heal from painful experiences and build healthier, more fulfilling lives and relationships. I am especially passionate about emotional wellbeing, trauma recovery, marriage and relationship therapy, psychological assessment, personal development and faith-sensitive mental health care.
I am the founder and lead psychotherapist at Mumtaz Mind & Wellness Studio, the founder of Queen Mumtaz Mental Health Foundation, and the Director of Mumtaz International School. Across these different roles, one purpose remains constant: empowering people with the knowledge, support and practical tools they need to grow.
I believe that healing involves more than reducing symptoms. It is also about restoring hope, strengthening relationships, developing emotional safety and helping people reconnect with who they are and who they are becoming.
Through therapy, teaching, writing, training and meaningful conversations, I hope to make mental health support more accessible, culturally responsive and deeply human.
